Just a random guy with a website

So, it’s been 3 months since I last posted. A lot has been going on with me in that time frame, as well as the rest of the world.

However, I am back and I am ready to start posting again now that things around here are getting back to normal.

Well, as normal as it can get, anyway.

This month starts my “1 post per day” goal for the month of June, which includes this one.

June also starts my “30 days with Linux” challenge, which I will definitely be writing more about in the coming weeks. I’ve chosen to completely erase the hard drive on my 13″ MacBook Pro and installed Fedora Workstation 32 as my daily driver.

But, more on that later.

Until tomorrow, hope all is well with you, dear reader.

And just like that, it’s the third month of the year already. At this rate, I’m going to be 40 before I have a chance to actually enjoy myself this year.

At least baseball starts up soon, as well as March Madness.

Madness, indeed.

It’s officially 2020.

A new year and a new decade wrapped in one. The holidays are officially over until next November but if it’s anything like this year, it’ll fly by.

Food for thought: this is my 5th decade of existence.

It’s funny, really. I’m sitting here in bed at 2:30am, watching TV and writing this post, and I can’t help but look back at the last year and the fact that not only will it be a new year in just a few days, but it will also be a new decade.

Call it a mid-life crisis, call it depression, whatever you decide though, I’ve spent the last 8 months looking back on my life for the past 39 years and I feel like I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing.

Currently, I’m working on a full year-end post that I hopefully have ready before the end of the year. It’s a bit difficult to do when everyone is awake, especially my autistic son who is a constant ball of energy which makes it nearly impossible to get anything done except chase him throughout the house.

In the meantime, I have just two words to describe my current mood:

Goodbye, December.

2019 marks the 6th year in which I participate in NaNoWriMo, and the 3rd year in which I exclusively use Storyist to reach my goal. I’ve used Scrivener in the past but found Storyist to be much more simplistic so I can focus on writing and reaching 50,000 words in 30 days.

If you’re participating this year, good luck! So far, I’ve reached my goal of 50,000 words around the 21 day mark, and this year looks to be no different.
